Ukraine launched extensive drone attacks against Russian refineries and military facilities around the city of St Petersburg on Saturday, in what one Russian official described as an “unprecedented” attack. Targets included naval facilities, as well as oil depots and terminals, the Ukrainian military said. It’s the second time in the past few days that scores of Ukrainian drones have targeted the Leningrad region, where St Petersburg is situated. Russia said it downed about 60 over the region early on Wednesday, hours before the start of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) – often dubbed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s version of Davos.

A Lancome employee recently swabbed under my eyes and took a hyper-zoomed photo of my forehead, already shiny and flaking. Then she inserted my protein samples into the company’s Cell BioPrint machine, which gave its verdict in horrifying, flashy red letters: I was suffering from accelerated aging. Though I was born 27 years ago, I supposedly had the skin of someone who was 28. Not bad, I thought, until I saw I was already at an elevated risk for sagging skin and pores. That’s how I was introduced to Lancome’s first foray into longevity products. Instead of making you look younger and correcting existing issues, longevity products seek to preserve and maintain the health of your body’s largest organ, the skin.

For those in Gen Z, life can be a bit of a monster — an uncertain economy, regular school shootings, a global pandemic. That’s why, with “Obsession” and “Backrooms,” they have twice recently been lured to the theater with the promise of made-for-them scares — a reminder of how hard but satisfying it can be when filmmakers dream up horrors for a generation stuck in a nightmare reality. “The genre of horror has kind of shifted with Gen Z, where it’s exploring some darker real life concepts sometimes rather than just the gore and things like that,” Lauren Cook, a therapist and author of “Generation Anxiety: A Millennial and Gen Z Guide for Staying Afloat in Uncertain Times,” said.

Keiko Fujimori was 19 years old when she made her international debut at a 1994 event as Peru’s first lady. Dressed in black, the young woman appeared shy and nervous in front of the cameras on the arm of her father, then-President Alberto Fujimori, at the first Summit of the Americas hosted by US President Bill Clinton. Keiko Fujimori assumed the role after her mother, the late Susana Higuchi, separated from her father following her public denunciation of corruption in his government regarding the handling of international donations. It marked the beginning of Fujimori’s political life.

When Elena Vladimirovna woke up around 4 a.m. to the sound of loud buzzing over her Moscow region apartment, she looked out of the window to see multiple drones overhead. The noise quickly faded, and she thought the danger had passed. But then came a loud bang from close by. “Below us, under the balcony, there is a canopy like a ledge. The drone fell on this canopy, and then it burst into flames, black smoke started coming,” she recalled. A room in her fifth-floor apartment caught fire.
